Omeprazole (Omeprasolum)

General description:
Chemical and international name: omeprazole (-5metoxy-2-[[(4-metoxy-3.5-dimethyl-2-pirydinil)methyl]sulphinyl]-1H-bezymidazol.
Main physical-chemical properties: high-hygroscopic powder of white color. In medical practice it is used as capsules.
Content: granules (pellets) of omeprazole in calculation on omeprazole.
Form of output: capsules 0,02 g
Pharmacological group: inhibitors of proton pump; stimulators and blockators of H-receptors.
Pharmacological properties: omeprazole refers to anti-ulcer anti-secretory preparations, decreasing spontaneous and activated stomach secretion due to inhibiting of Na+, K+ - ATFphase - proton "pump", necessary for transport of hydrogen ions from pre-wall cells of mucous of stomach into the blank of the last. omeprazole subdues final phase of basal and stimulated secretion of hydrochloride acid independently of irritant nature.
Pharmacokinetics: After administration inside omeprazole is quickly and fully absorbed into blood and bend with albumins of blood plasma (about 90-95%). Effect lasts during 24 hours and more. It is excreted as metabolits through kidneys.
Indications for use: ulcer of stomach, duodenal ulcer in the phase of aggravation, rephluxe ezophagit, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Way of administration and dosage: omeprazole is administrated inside. In case of duodenal ulcer 1 capsule (20 mg) per day is administrated (in the morning - to empty stomach). The course of treatment is 2-4 weeks. In case of stomach ulcer - 1 capsule per day (in the morning - to empty stomach) during 4-8 weeks is administrated. In case of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome the treatment begins from 3 capsules (60 mg) per day (in the morning - to empty stomach), and later the dose is increased (if necessary) to 4 capsules per day (80 mg), which are administrated 2 times per day (in the morning and in the evening before meal).
Side effects: in rare cases diarrhea, nausea, meteorism, constipation, stomachache, headache, weakness, rash are possible.
Contraindications: it is not recommended for children, pregnant women and women during lactation period, in case of high sensitivity to medicine.
Interaction with other drugs: omeprazole can prolong the half-excreting period and period of action of remedies, metabolized in liver by oxidation (diazepam, varpharin and others). Peculiarities of use: under resistance to other anti-ulcer preparations omeprazole is administrated beginning from 40 mg per day. For eradication of Helicobacter pylori administrated together with antibiotics, metronidazole, preparations of bismuth and other medicinal products. To middle-aged persons and persons with breaches of functions of liver and kidneys special choice of dosage of preparation is not required.
Conditions and terms of storage: keep in dry, dark place, away from children. After opening of container the term of use is not more than 1 month.
